The USS Estes AGC-12 was the command ship for Amphibious Group One, under the flag of Rear Adminral Carl F. Espe, during the Korean War. She celebrated the first anniversary of her re-commissioning on January 31, 1951 under the command of Captain Robert W. Wood. The Estes had a distinguished World War II history and was brought out of moth balls to serve again during the Korean "Conflict". |
